How do I make an appointment?

You can call on 03 9068 5446 and talk to our friendly reception staff or, email at physio@healthybodiesphysiotherapy.com.au and let us know your preferred day & time and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

In Australia Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Dietitians and Exercise Physiologists are Primary Health Practitioners, which means you do not require a referral to see us

However, patients with chronic conditions may be eligible for a Medicare EPC, which allow you up to 5 subsidised visits per calendar year. For more information on the EPC program call us or talk to your GP.

If you are NDIS, DVA, Workcover, TAC or EPC patient, please bring along all relevant paperwork, including your claim number, workplace information and GP’s details.

PHYSIO:

Appointments are approximately 30 minutes long. This allows us time to assess, diagnose, treat and provide you with some self-management strategies. 60 minutes appointments are available for patients with complex conditions or multiple problems.

EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY:

For your initial consultation it is generally advised to make a 1 hour appointment to allow for a thorough history taking and assessment. Follow-up appointments vary between 30-60 minutes.

REMEDIAL MASSAGE:

We offer 30 and 60 minute massage appointments. For you initial massage appointment it is advised to make a 1 hour appointment to allow for a subjective history taking and assessment prior to your massage.

Payment can be made on the day via cash or EFTPOS.

We have a HICAPS machine onsite, so bring along your private health card and we can claim instantly for you.

Yes rebates are available. Depending on your insurance company and the level of cover your rebate may vary. We have a HICAPS machine onsite for instant, on-the-spot claiming. If you have any queries regarding your eligibility rebates, please contact your insurance company directly.

All our therapists have experience working with national or international sporting athletes and teams. We are a multidisciplinary clinic which means not only do we offer an elite Physiotherapy service but we also provide Exercise Physiology, Remedial Massage and a range of Supervised Rehabilitation Classes meaning we can more effectively offer solutions to a larger range of conditions chronic and acute.

We have a 60sq meter gym on site fully equipped with weights, squat rack, bench press, cable machines and pilates equipment so that we can assess your gym technique and provide you with gym progressions and rehab that is appropriate to your condition.

This is highly variable patient to patient. Our goal is to help you manage your injury. Therefore we will always give you exercises and educate you regarding what to do in between sessions to optimize your recovery without having to visit us as frequently as you may expect.

We hear them all! And the simple answer is: of course! Although our practitioners have experience working with and treating elite athletes we spend majority of the time working with the general population and we treat you no different than we do with them. You are never too old… “use it or lose it”, so let us help you by fixing “it” so you can “use it” effectively. It is better to do something than nothing, so no matter how old the injury is, if you believe it’s time to do something about it, let us help you.

As we are a very busy practice, we do appreciate notice of a change or cancellation of appointment as soon as possible. If the notice is less than 24 hours, you may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Please wear lose fitting, comfortable clothing. For group classes, please also bring a drink bottle and a pair of socks.

Yes, we have free car parking onsite. We are located at 159 Centre Dandenong Road, Cheltenham. Drive down our driveway and you will see parking behind the clinic. There is a handicap car space available also.

Yes, our clinic is fully wheelchair accessible including the gymnasium and all treatment rooms.
